We concentrate on greenhouse and nursery markets though our equipment is used in a wide variety of other applications such as turf management, chicken and swine operations, industrial applications, blueberry and cranberry farms and many other agricultural uses. We are very interested in discussing opportunities anywhere a dependable chemical injection system is required.


Green Houses and Horticulture

H.E. Anderson is a trusted name in the greenhouse industry for plant fertilization, pH stabilization, fungicide and chlorine injection and for chemical monitors. Customers in this market typically use the J Plus Series for large systems, when injecting multiple chemicals and also when planning to expand. Many customers who require better accuracy, reliability or increased chemical resistance upgrade to the D Series or Portable D Series from plastic pumpers or venturi-type injectors. S Series water powered injectors are still used where no electricity is available. E1 EC and P1 pH Monitors are very commonly used to keep tabs on chemical levels in water lines.

Tree Nurseries and Farms

H.E. Anderson is also the only manufacturer that has the ability to proportionally inject chemicals into water lines with flows up to 10,000 gallons per minute. This makes Anderson Injectors very popular within the tree farm and nursery industries. Common applications include acid injection for pH adjustment, fertilizer for better tree growth and health, and chlorine for disease control. Our most common product in this industry is the J Series Injector to handle chemical injection. E1 EC Monitors and P2 pH Monitors are also commonly used to monitor chemical levels.

Blueberry and Cranberry Operations

Many blueberry and cranberry farms have started using Anderson Injectors for the same reason our products are already popular with the tree industry. Our injectors can proportionally inject very harsh chemicals into very large water lines. Commonly injected chemicals in these industries include fertilizers for better crop results and acid for pH adjustment. J Series Injectors, are the most commonly used injectors. E1 EC Monitors and P1 pH monitors are also commonly used to monitor chemical levels.


Agricultural customers are mainly chicken, turkey and swine farms as well as processing plants for the related fields. Products mainly used in these markets include: Medi-Flow Medicators/Chlorinators. Product uses include: injecting medicines into animal drinking water and injecting sanitizing chemicals into wash-down applications.

Industrial and Commercial

Many hotels, resorts, waste water treatment plants, and potable water treatment facilities employ Anderson Injectors for their chemical injection needs. Anderson Injectors are also used to treat water in the printing industry. Products for this market include: J Plus Series, D Series, Portable DB Series, SD Series, and Medi-Flow Medicators/Chlorinators.

Wash-down Applications

H.E. Anderson equipment can be used to inject sanitizing agents such as bleach to sanitize.

Fertigation is the application of fertilizer through irrigation water. Plants require fertilizer to properly grow and reach their full ornamental potential and stay healthy. Fertigation is accomplished by injecting a fertilizer solution into an irrigation water line where the water is then distributed to plants using an irrigation system made up of pipes, pumps, drippers, sprayers, moving booms, sprinklers and many other components and devices. H.E. Anderson provides controls and pumps to inject the fertilizer solution into the irrigation line. Fertilizers used for injection can either be purchased in liquid form or as a water soluble powder. When liquid fertilizer is used it can usually be directly injected into the irrigation water. Water soluble fertilizer can be used to create liquid solutions by mixing the water soluble fertilizer with water in a tank to create a stock solution which can then be injected into the irrigation line.

Benefits of fertigation include saving time as well as reduced cost of materials when compared to manually applying granular fertilizer. Operations with existing irrigations systems can easily be adapted to include fertigation equipment that allows injection of liquid fertilizer. Commercial operations also benefit from the efficient application of fertilizer when compared to broadcast granular, slow release or controlled release fertilizers. Liquid or water soluble fertilizer is the best to maximize efficient usage of fertilizer and control application.

pH Correction

pH, or potential of hydrogen, is a numeric scale used to specify the acidity or alkalinity of an aqueous solution. Specifically, pH is the negative Log of the H+ ion concentration of a solution. Solutions with a pH less than 7 are acidic and solutions with a pH greater than 7 are alkaline or basic.

Many different types of acid can be injected into irrigation water to adjust pH. pH adjusting water soluble fertilizer is also available and can be injected. Proper water and soil pH is beneficial and necessary to allow elements in the solution to be available to the crops' roots. This article published by Clemson University discusses how "The pH value of soil is one of a number of environmental conditions that affects the quality of plant growth. The soil pH value directly affects nutrient availability."

Harmful salts on plant leaves caused by high bicarbonates in irrigation water can also be eliminated by adjusting pH.

Properly adjusting pH can also mitigate the build-up of calcium scale.

H.E. Anderson equipment is extremely well known for use in pH adjustment of water. Our Teflon® pumps can pump any strength acid into an irrigation line without diluting the stock acid solution. Other injectors require acid to be diluted so the injector is not damaged. Not having to dilute acid is a huge safety benefit as well as saving time and labor.


Sanitizers can be injected into irrigation water to remove algae, fertilizer build-up, calcium, hard water deposits, and greenhouse whitewash coatings without brushing. There are many different types of sanitizers available with many different types of chemicals and benefits.
